I am happy that I made that phone call!
As a newbie in Den Haag, I was trying to find my way around. I was trying to find a community who were also interested in art/ handmade things.
I was casually browsing at my options on the internet and found The Hungry Mind.
A first glance at their website, hmm. this places looks crafty! Skimming through, I saw that they had various activities for kids and adults. As it was holiday season, they were closed so I did not probe further. I just gave them a follow on Instagram and forgot about it.
Later in October 2023, through their Instagram I saw that they were having a handmade market in a couple of days. I wanted to put up a stall as I had a couple of canvas paintings, bookmarks and tote bags that could make a sale. But, something told me I was already too late. Because, there were only 10 days left to the market.
Anyway, I wanted to try my luck! Guess what?! As expected, all the stalls were filled. The events coordinator did not shut the door on me. She asked me to email what I sell. And of course, I sent her links to my Website, Instagram and a folder with a bit explanation about my paintings. A few days later, I received an email asking if it was possible bring my canvas paintings to put it up on exhibit! So guess where my paintings are going to be?! At the busy community center of The Hungry Mind! From October 20th to December 18th, 2023 some of my canvas paintings are going on display and sale at the Hungry mind.
I am excited to organize this and thankful that all this happened because, I made that call and asked for possibilities. Also, the fact that they are approachable, international and welcomed my art.
