What was? What now? What will be?

The usual story

I went to school, got decent grades and chose to do engineering because it is a popular choice. I do not deny that it opened several doors for me. It presented me with options to choose from. It gave me the confidence to move to a different continent when I was barely figuring things out.

Moving to the Netherlands brought me to people who had achieved a lot of things in their field of study yet really polite and approachable. They set example of how to be a community, be helpful wherever possible.

It brought me together with my husband who is one of my best habit I picked up.

This is me. Say hi

Right now, apart from actively looking for jobs that pay, I am also training myself to do art. Some days are good. Some days are bad- this is the day when I have made no attempt to create. The good days happen because I have a to do list. The list chases me. I get joy from ticking things off the list. Is there a word that is really specific to describe that?

Why do I do art?

It makes me feel good. It gives me a purpose for that day.

Some of the pieces that I create are from a reference image/ something I see when I take a walk. This is the way I appreciate things in life. My perspective is what makes it unique.

When I draw Kolam, it helps me identify patterns in nature and look at things in a mindful manner.

But do I like everything I make? No way! But I do see this happening- when I like what I make, it is also appreciated by others. This approach has helped me to be a bit less harsh on myself.

I am no Nostradamus. But I hope to keep this habit of making art as long as I am able to. I would be more than happy if the pieces I create is also liked by others and receives a new home. It is motivating to experiment with new ideas when pieces get picked up.

And on that note, there is a community with which I would soon be associating in connection to prospective sales of my canvas paintings. It is happening in one of the best cities of the Netherlands, in Den Haag!

Stay tuned to hear more!

Cheers,

Paripoorani
